Finally I am reunited with Bumblebee. After a long night flight, bus ride and short walk we arrived at our Airbnb. Today we went by bus to the harbour of Reykjavik in the afternoon and got our bikes back. So nice to ride again after 10 days sabbatical 🙂

First impression of Iceland? Beautiful views, rough nature and it’s not getting dark. Arriving at Keflavik AirPort past midnight with clouds and grey weather and 7C we cashed up at the ATM (you pay a fee of 10€ so try to safe up and pay by card if  possible) and bought some alcohol (very expensive outside the AirPort). There are 2 bus companies and one drives to the BSI terminal downtown for 2500 kronar.

It is very safe on Iceland and the door of our airbnb was unlocked with keys on the kitchen table. After collecting our bikes at the Samskip harbour we did some shopping at the Bonus markt. Groceries are expensive but if you pick the Euroshopper brand it is reasonable. If you take the bus to get around Reykjavik you can either buy a ticket in the bus (no change) or at shops for 440 kronar.

Roads in Reykjavik are fine but watch out for some small holes and uneven surfaces at traffic lights.
